Atos Research & Innovation group (ARI) presented three demos on AI-based Network Management Automation based on the work resulting from their participation in two different EU-funded projects: 5G-TOURS and Affordable5G.

Smart mobility, media, and e-health for tourists and citizens

Aims to demonstrate the ability of 5G to support multiple vertical use cases concurrently on the same infrastructure.

The project intends to provide efficient and reliable close-to-commercialization services for citizens and tourists in three different cities: Athens (smart mobility), Rennes (e-health) and Turin (media and broadcasting). Its results could help to improve the quality of life of people in cities.

An AI-Agent, developed by Atos, is able to trigger automatically VNFs scaling in-out actions making possible to address complex data classification or prediction problems (e.g., based on CPU, RAM or network usage metrics) according to the concrete AI-models.

Affordable5G will create a 5G network to deliver a complete, disaggregated and affordable solution covering the needs of private and enterprise networks, through technical innovation that span across all parts of the 5G network including Radio Access, Edge, 5G Core and Orchestration.

Demo 3: Radio parameter optimization via ML-assisted near-real-time control loop.

An ML-agent, declared as an xApp, assists a RAN Intelligent Controller´s near-real-time control-loop in optimizing radio parameters based on live measurements received from the network. In collaboration with two partners of Affordable5G: Accelleran y NKUA.
