Within the scope of the 5G Tours EU project, Dr. Diego Gonzalez and Kevin Picchi presented a webinar on how to create multi-device XR experiences. The presentation went through an explanation of the complexity of current XR hardware, from display type to tracking. It showed how the differences between platforms and vendors require different SDKs that can complicate creating an XR experience.
It presents WebXR as an interesting option to engage with XR experiences creation, by leveraging the reach and ubiquity of the web browser. How WebXR works, which interface is the starting point and how to abstract it in order to facilitate content creation through a framework follows. An example of a multiuser space is presented and an explanation of the principles that allow the interaction is shown.
